OCTO is purposefully designed to revolutionize skincare formulation, aesthetics, and communication by embracing a distinctive and unconventional approach, setting the goal to create a brand that reflects it. So, me and my team at Borromeo & de Silva partnered with ERG Media to develop a comprehensive brand identity, creative strategy, design and packaging system for the OCTO Skincare brand.
While OCTO was in the ideation phase: we crafted a strategy,
visual brand identity, tone of voice, and vision for customer experience
that could translate across all launch touch points.
My team at BdS developed a brand identity that captures the essence of
OCTO's Milanese design roots and Californian scientific formulation.
Visual Asset

The visual identity is clean, sophisticated, and timeless,
reflecting the brand's focus on essential products.

OCTO's Tone of Voice strategically does not pander
like a typical skincare brand and is direct and to-the-point:
so you can get some relief from the overpromising, overwhelming marketing of skincare products.
Supported by extensive scientific and clinical research, OCTO Skincare discovered that achieving
optimal skin longevity requires only eight synergistic ingredients, each contributing uniquely to our skin's health and renewal.
It encourages taking control of what’s bothering you: quickly, efficiently, and with real answers.
Backstage

In order to create a Brand System and Tone of Voice that was slightly subversive to the potions and promises historically found in skincare, we crafted a logo that was rooted in historical beauty ...but with an intentional twist and modern touch that alludes to what's to come.

OCTO's signature icon doesn't have just one way of showing up;
It makes appearances from big brand moments to small interactions
and takes shape to suit the application.


The brand identity extends beyond the logo
to encompass the entire customer experience.
Each design element was crafted to enhance the customer experience and communicate Octo’s dedication to science-driven beauty and transparency.
The color palette was carefully chosen to align with their commitment to sustainability and natural ingredients.

BdS developed a comprehensive design system that includes
packaging, website design, and social media presence.
The packaging is designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The use of high-quality materials and a minimalist design reflects the brand's commitment to quality and simplicity.

I then crafted a digital experience leading design and development. The website is designed to be informative and user-friendly. It features clean navigation, high-quality product photography, and informative content about the brand's philosophy and ingredients.
